My MBP is now the oldest model that will run Big Sur so still supported for a while. The Macbook Pro 2017 can only reach a better battery life only when it is using the integrated graphic card however once it switches over to the Discrete graphic card the battery life decreases significantly. My old MacBook Dual Core 4GB 5400RPM Drive still gives me around 3-4 hours battery life after 3 years. For some reason the first percentage 100 can last 1-2 hours on its own before going to 99 and then after that only every 10 can last 1 hour.
